No Cost Support for High School Student Success Following COVID-19 Pandemic.
The American Institutes for Research (AIR) was recently awarded a highly competitive Educational Innovation and Research grant (U411B190010) from the U.S. Department of Education to expand access to one early warning system with strong evidence of effectiveness—the Early Warning Intervention & Monitoring System.
Participating districts will receive all resources to implement EWIMS at no cost, including paid training for staff from each high school and two years of coaching to support successful implementation, as well as access to an innovative predictive analytics data tool.
Can early warning systems prevent students from dropping out of high school?
In this video interview, AIR expert and managing researcher, Susan Bowles Therriault, explains how early warning systems can identify students at risk of dropping out and help get them back on track to earn a high school diploma.
What district and school leaders are saying about working with AIR on early warning systems:
“Thank you so much for your help! Our graduation rate for this past year is going to be about 94%, which is the best in the school’s history!!!!! Your team was a big part of our success, so thank you!!”
“[The EWS tool] became a great tool to look at kids and filter down with groups of kids. The data existed before but in six different files and with six different people, now it’s all in one place.”
